Robotic Baggage Delivery System

As part of Canada’s largest hardware hackathon, we built an end-to-end system to check in passengers and transfer luggage from a conveyor belt to a cargo platform. Control logic was written in Verilog and deployed on an FPGA to read sensors, drive motors, and coordinate hand-offs in real time.

Goals

Accurate hand-off between platforms
Validate passenger eligibility via barcode
Meet cost/weight constraints

Outcomes

Consistent transfer with sensor feedback
GUI check-in flow with data validation
Modular parts validated via CAD & drawings

McMaster Design League Club

Assistive Kitchen Tool

This project was developed as part of a design challenge hosted by the McMaster Design League. Our team designed a modular kitchen tray with interchangeable attachments to support food preparation for clients with dual sensory impairments.

Goals

Cut variety of produce efficiently
Ensure ease of use and safety
Must withstand temperatures up to 40°C

tested blade attachments under low-vision simulations
Tracked fabrication costs and material usage
Recorded user feedback for design refinements
